Great for following fast action

I have been working on a documentary on Birds of Prey. I am often trying to follow birds in flight a 1/2 mile away or more and at focal lengths of more than 2000 mm (35 mm equivalent). Lots of fluid heads work for pans moving horizontally on the smae plane, but it is difficult to move smoothly vertically following a bird in a flight or to move diagonally, both vertically and horizontally at the same time at great focal lengths following a small bird in a big sky. The zero gravity does the best job of this among all things I have tried. I use it with my new JVC GYHM700L17 with a special 2/3" long lens on it, and it handles this camera well. But I have also tried my Canon AI and a Sony FX7 on it and it works well with both. It is really amazing to have a variety of camera weights that all can balance perfectly at all angles and at all degrees."

This Head is Really Awesome!

"I've always used very good and expensive tripods, but I've never been completely happy with any of them. I wanted something different, and the Zero Gravity head is certainly different. When it arrived, I was pleased to discover how solid and well built it was. And the more I shoot with it, the more I like it.The bottom line for me is that this is an amazing tripod head at an unbelievable price. If you tend to gravitate towards really expensive gear like I do "because pricier has got to be better," it's probably worth giving this unit another look. I'm glad I did."

"The build and action are much more than I expected. This head is as smooth as silk, smoother really. It has a max load of 15 lbs which is fine for most small cameras. I use it with my HVR-Z1U and my PMW-EX1. For the price there is nothing out there that comes close."
